this resort offers the best in family fun. Maple and oak trees,
some reaching heights of more than 100 feet, adorn the countryside
around the resort, providing a scenic vacation spot. A pond and
nearby river provide fishing and canoeing at this 235-acre facility
that features excellent tent camping. Recreation opportunities include
horseback riding, golfing and much more.
Area attractions feature the Hudson Valley Winery, Ice Cave Mountains,
Museum Village, Monticello Raceway, county fairs and historic sites,
apple picking orchards, golf courses, glider rides, and fine restaurants.
Visitors can plan day trips to nearby Minnewaska State Park, which
is situated in Ulster County on the dramatic Shawangunk Mountain
ridge. The rugged and rocky terrain is blanketed by dense hardwood
forest encircling two lakes. Clear streams notch into valleys, chisel
into sheer cliffs and eventually emerge in waterfalls. Recreational
opportunities here include hiking, biking, horseback riding, cross-country
skiing, swimming, picnicking, and boating. |
