Resort Profile

Lake of the North Resort represents the perfect retreat. Situated in quiet woodlands on the shore of 120-acre Lake George, a wealth of water activities await campers, including swimming, boating, and fishing, or just staying ashore and enjoying the splendid lake views and quiet hiking trails.

The resort is located near the historic town of West Branch, which exudes turn-of-the-century flavors and a strong sense of community preservation of architecture and history. The spirit of the town is evident in the Heritage Days Festival held each July 4th weekend, when activities ranging from a parade to a duck race are focused on the town and its people. Other favorite events of West Branch include the annual bikers party in July and the annual Rods and Relics Car Show in August. The gathering of Harleys at the H.O.G. Rally is always a magnificent series of sights and events. The Rods and Relics Car Show provides stiff competition for the most impressive displays, including muscle cars and specialized vehicles from today and yesterday.

Activities that are popular every day include shopping in the many antique shops, fishing in the area's countless lakes and rivers and streams, and golfing at all levels (from the most challenging to the most accommodating courses). The surrounding area supports a wide range of outdoor activities, from encounters with nature at the game refuge to off-road-vehicle challenges. It also provides excellent shopping opportunities at a wide range of outlet shops.

Nearby Rose City offers yet more activities, events, and opportunities to be immersed in local history and culture. The combined offerings of West Branch and Rose City and the splendid water sports and activities of Lake of the North Resort are almost certain to provide a welcome escape from the ordinary in a setting inspired by nature and history.
