More Info The nearby Mohave Valley is a recreational playground with boating, fishing, and water-skiing. Lake Mohave, lined with the steep walls of the Pyramid, Painted, Eldorado and Black canyons, provides a natural habitat for fish and wildlife. Rainbow trout are found at the upper end of the lake, while largemouth and striped bass are taken from the lower reaches of the lake.Just north of Bullhead City, Lake Mead National Recreation Area (NRA) offers a wealth of things to do and places to go all through the year. With 1.5 million acres, it is twice the size of Rhode Island. Of America's four desert ecosystems, three meet in Lake Mead NRA: the Mojave, the Great Basin and the Sonoran Deserts. As a result, this seemingly barren area contains a wide variety of plants and animals, some of which may be found nowhere else in the world.
